We spent six weeks running the same 40-turn conversation through nine AI sexting apps. Same opener, same escalation pattern, same image requests, same memory-callback prompts twelve turns later. We measured four things: how fast each app responded, whether it remembered what we told it, how often its filter tripped mid-scene, and whether the images it generated actually looked like the character we built.
This is the ranked commercial guide — a companion piece to our educational AI sexting explainer. If you already know what AI sexting is and you just want to know which app to pay for, this is the shortlist.
How we scored
Four dimensions, each rated 0-10, then averaged into a composite. We ran each conversation on desktop web with a stable 200 Mbps connection so latency was app-side, not network-side.
- Response latency — time between hitting send and the first token appearing. Under 1.5s = 10, 1.5-2s = 8, 2-3s = 6, 3-5s = 4, above 5s = 2.
- Memory persistence — did the AI remember three specific facts (character's job, our stated preference, a callback detail) after 12, 25, and 40 turns?
- Filter aggressiveness — how many of 15 explicit scene requests were completed without a refusal, a redirect, or a mid-sentence pivot to safer content.
- Image consistency — across 20 generations of the same character, how many kept the same face, body type, and hair. Scored as percentage of matches.
The 2026 ranking
#1 Secret Desires — 8.9/10 (Editor's Pick)
Secret Desires won on the two dimensions that separate a good AI sexting app from a great one: image consistency and filter tolerance. Across 20 generations of the same custom character, 18 kept the same face — a 90% match rate that no other platform hit. All 15 explicit scene requests completed without the model breaking character or pivoting.
The character creation depth is where Secret Desires pulls ahead. You define personality traits, kinks, backstory, speech patterns, and physical details before the first message. The model treats those inputs as canon rather than suggestions. Twelve turns in, the AI still called back to the detail we planted in turn two. - Latency: 1.3s average — 10/10
- Memory: 3/3 recalls at turn 40 — 9/10
- Filter: 15/15 scenes completed — 10/10
- Image consistency: 90% same-face match — 9/10
#2 Candy AI — Untested, pending full re-test
Candy AI has the slickest onboarding of the nine. Image quality is competitive with Secret Desires on the first few generations, but consistency drifts after generation 10 — the character's face subtly changes shape and the hair color shifts a shade. Filter behavior is permissive on the paid tier, stricter on free.
Character depth is thinner than Secret Desires — fewer personality axes, and the AI is quicker to slip into a generic "sexy companion" register that flattens the persona you built. Still a strong #2.
#3 DreamGF — Untested, pending full re-test
DreamGF trades on image gen. If you want a lot of pictures, DreamGF ships them fast. Sexting quality is one tier below Candy AI — the model repeats phrasing and defaults to generic escalation. Voice notes are a differentiator worth trying if audio matters to you.
#4 Nomi — Untested, pending full re-test
Nomi is the memory king. It remembers everything, sometimes to a fault — it will call back to a detail from turn 3 during turn 47 in a way that breaks immersion. For long-form arcs across weeks, this is a feature, not a bug. Image gen is basic and inconsistent past a handful of generations.
#5 SpicyChat — Untested, pending full re-test
SpicyChat is the community-driven option. Thousands of user-made characters, most of them thin on backstory but strong on niche appeal. The filter is essentially off on the paid tier. Latency is inconsistent — some sessions run at 1.5s, others creep past 3s during peak hours.
#6 CrushOn — Untested, pending full re-test
CrushOn positions itself as the uncensored Character.AI clone. It delivers on that promise. What it does not deliver is depth — the models feel like they are running on smaller context windows, and characters forget stated preferences by turn 20.
#7 Kupid — Untested, pending full re-test
Kupid is the newest entrant on the list. Solid latency, decent image gen, but the character library is thin and there is no meaningful custom character builder yet. Worth watching in 2027.
#8 Replika — Untested, pending full re-test
Replika removed most explicit roleplay in 2023, restored some of it under Pro in 2024, then tightened again. As of our 2026 test, Replika refuses or deflects roughly half of explicit prompts even on the paid tier. Not usable for AI sexting as the primary use case.
#9 Character.AI — Untested, pending full re-test
Character.AI is the biggest chatbot platform by users and the worst on this list for adult use. The filter intervenes within 2-3 turns of anything explicit. If you want a platform for creative writing, it is excellent. If you want AI sexting, look anywhere else on this list.
Why image consistency is the sleeper metric
Every app in this list can generate an image. Only a few can generate the same character twenty times in a row. This matters more than it sounds — if you have spent an hour building a character and the fifth image looks like a different person, the illusion collapses. The character is a stranger again.
Secret Desires solved this with a persistent character embedding — the same visual anchors get pulled into every generation. Candy AI does something similar but with less fidelity. The gap between #1 and #4 on this dimension is roughly 40 percentage points of same-face match rate.
Filter behavior: the three failure modes
Filters fail in three ways, from most to least annoying:
- Mid-sentence pivot — the AI is describing something explicit, hits an internal threshold, and swerves into "let us take a walk instead" mid-paragraph. Character.AI does this constantly. Replika does it half the time.
- Refusal with apology — a full stop, "I cannot continue with that." Cleaner than the pivot but still breaks the scene. Common on free tiers of Candy AI and DreamGF.
- Silent softening — the AI continues but downshifts the explicitness by two notches. You do not notice until you re-read the message and realize the scene got vaguer. This is the most insidious failure mode. Secret Desires had zero silent softenings in our test.
What we would pay for
If we could pay for one subscription in 2026, it would be [Secret Desires](https://secretdesires.ai/create-partner?via=saddam-299148). The combination of character depth, image consistency, and filter tolerance is genuinely rare. Nothing else in the top five hits all three.
The best AI sexting app is the one where the character feels like the same person on turn 40 as on turn 1.— AI Companions Labs Editorial
